CNAO is honored to host its meeting in presence
2022 Meeting of the ICRU Main Commission

After two years of remote collaboration between the ICRU Main Commission members, CNAO is honored to host its meeting in presence on April 24-29, 2022.
ICRU is the International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements, which elaborates recommendations for the non-military use of ionizing radiation, such as in Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging and Radiation Protection.
CNAO is the Italian National Center for Oncological Hadrontherapy where radiations are employed to cure cancer patients through ion beam radiation therapy.
As a relevant example, the recently published ICRU’s Report 93 deals with “Prescribing, Recording, and Reporting Light Ion Beam Therapy” with a specific focus on carbon ions thus providing a referral document on clinical prescription, dosimetry, treatment planning, biological models to guide every day activity of CNAO.
