Support to the CNAO. STRENGTH and COURAGE!

Good morning, My name is Francesco Fontanelli, and I underwent, during the months of April and May, a cycle of hadrontherapy at the CNAO of Pavia. I suffered from a relapsing squamous carcinoma of the tongue, which had already been treated four years ago at the Istituto Tumori di Milano with ""traditional"" chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I was very surprised and very disappointed to learn of the financial difficulties that the CNAO is experiencing. I can only express all my solidarity with the CNAO Foundation, and I hope that everything can be solved in a short time. An excellent facility due to its organisation and especially due to the effectiveness;of the treatments it provides cannot be;put at risk of closure. In my case, six months after the end of the treatment, the MRIs showed significant, promising and comforting positive results. I therefore believe that those who have the opportunity must make every effort to preserve and further advance this outstanding reality within;the Italian healthcare panorama. I will undertake to make not only this situation but also the CNAO, its facility and its great possibilities in the treatment of tumours known.
