Nursed and pampered. My stay at the CNAO easier
Dearest, Last year, in September, one Saturday afternoon, I started seeing double .....<>. Worried, I immediately went to the;hospital in Piombino and from there to Livorno, where I was operated on by Dr Desogus. Since then, a new adventure began and brought me to you. First of all, I would like to express my thanks to the women and men of the Foundation for having succeeded in setting up in Italy an experimental facility like the CNAO, which allows a lot of people like me to be treated in their own country, thus avoiding stays in places much further away from their families and with considerable - and sometimes even prohibitive - economic burdens. I would like to thank, of course, all the medical and nursing staff for their competence, dedication and;humanity shown towards us, and for having been able to create a sense of family that, after;a;while,;almost made us forget we were in a care facility. I can only remember with pleasure the chats we had during the short periods of interruption of the treatment; they were actually exchanges of life experiences that refreshed our spirit. I would also like to thank all the technicians who have tirelessly taken care of the complex machinery used in our treatment, seeing to the infinite settings and paying attention, mainly, to the potential effects on our health. I really thank everyone because I was nursed and pampered in the best possible way, and this not only made my stay at the CNAO lighter but also has contributed to strengthening my hope for the future. Kindest regards, Luigi Scalas
